Kona, Hawaii –A temporary agreement between Hawaii County and Oceanside 1250 Partners, the developer of Hokulia, will open the Hokulia bypass southbound from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., this week, in order to ease traffic congestion resulting from tree trimming along Mamalahoa Highway.
The opening, from March 22nd through March 26th, is separate from the plan announced last week to open the bypass in both directions for 13 hours a day, 7 days a week. The County says that plan is still being formulated.
