Captain Cook, Hawaii – Video by David Corrigan
The South Kona community enjoyed a Saturday in Captain Cook at the 2010 Avocado Festival.
The fourth annual event not only celebrated the green fruit, which was introduced to Hawaii Island in the 1800s, but also the spirit of sustainable agriculture.
Culinary instructors, poney rides, and information booths surrounded the Amy B.H. Greenwell Enthnobotanical Garden, where the event was held. And there was plenty of guacamole to go along with the top notch local music. In this video, the sound of Kona music talent and festival performers Bolo and his band, fill the air.
