Hilo, Hawaii – Video by David Corrigan
The St. Joseph Cardinals defeated the Pahoa Daggers 51-39 in the final game of the BIIF Division II boys basketball playoffs on Saturday evening in front of a packed crowd at the Hilo Civic.
The final in the Division II tournament was not nearly as dramatic as the prior playoff games. St. Joseph overcame HPA in double overtime to advance to the title game, while Pahoa upset undefeated Kohala with a last second buzzer beating basket.
In the title game, the Cardinals dominated the tempo of the contest, controlling the ball on offense and playing tight defense against the Daggers.
