The man arrested for his alleged role in Sunday’s deadly motorcycle crash that killed a father and son in Puna has been released pending further investigation, according to police.
Bobby K. Jimenez was arrested for two counts of negligent homicide after police say he turned his 1999 Mazda four-door sedan from Highway 130 onto Ainaloa Boulevard, crashing into a 2006 Suzuki motorcycle carrying thirty-six-year-old Thomas G. Reimer and his son, 7-year-old Thomas G. Reimer Jr.
The father and son, who were wearing helmets, were both transported to the Hilo Medical Center where they were pronounced dead.
Jimenez was also arrested on counts of promoting a detrimental drug in the third degree and no-no fault insurance. Traffic Enforcement Unit officers are continuing the investigation.
