October 17, 2008 – Kailua-Kona, Hawaii
Thursday night’s Hawaii County mayoral forum with candidates Billy Kenoi and Angel Pilago drew a crowd to the Kealakehe High School for a night of spirited debate.
Sherry Bracken of LAVA 105 moderated the event. Candidates were asked to elaborate on their plans for tackling a variety of issues facing the island, such as health care, the trash problem, and the current economic situation.
Candidates also took the opportunity to correct information on their background and campaign financing records, attempting to address some issues recently brought to light by vigilant local journalist, Hunter Bishop. The forum remained civil and polite throughout the duration of the event.
The event was sponsored by the Kona-Kohala Chamber of Commerce, Kona Outdoor Circle, PATH, Hawaii Island Board of Realtors, and Kona Board of Realtors.
The forum has been divided into separate clips for easier viewing.
The general election will be on November 4th. Walk in voting begins Tuesday and goes until November 1st.
