(BIVN) – A Governor Candidate Forum was held on Friday evening at the Event Center at the Arc of Hilo.
Journalist Sherry Bracken moderated the event which featured Governor David Ige (D), Congresswoman Colleen Hanabusa (D), Representative Andria Tupola (R), and Ray L’Heureux (R).
The candidates answered questions ranging from Hawai‘i Island health care, business climate, volcanic eruption response, affordable housing, the Thirty Meter Telescope, and more.
The event was sponsored by the Hawai‘i Island Chamber of Commerce, Japanese Chamber of Commerce & Industry of Hawaii, Hawaii Island REALTORS®, Kanoelehua Industrial Area Association, Hawaii Island Contractors’ Association, and the Hawaii Island Portuguese Chamber of Commerce.
The primary election will be held on August 11.
