(BIVN) – The Hawaii Police Department recognized its 86th Recruit Class during a Wednesday (Nov. 15) program at the Hilo Hawaiian Hotel.
Police Chief Paul Ferreira was on hand at the Mokuola Ballroom to administer the Reaffirmation of Oath and to the badge pinning ceremony for the new police recruits.
The class motto of the 86th class, comprised of Paul-Lawrence Rose, Christopher Campbell (class president), Sybastian Keltner (class vice president), Justin Dodo, Jason Miyashiro, Toni Marie Rosete (secretary / treasurer), Devin Ah Chong Jr., Shawn Mirafuentes, Jonathan Rapoza, Russ Fiesta, Denapoli Fui, and Kaneala Abaya, is “Strength In Unity, Humility In Service”
Sergeant Paul Fukuda served as Master of Ceremonies. The Keynote speech was delivered by JoAnne Balberde-Kamali’i, the Behavioral Health Specialist for the Department of Education, East Hawaii.
