(BIVN) – The Hilo Pride Parade marched down Kilauea Avenue on Saturday, shortly after 11 a.m.
This year’s theme was Beyond Boundaries, and Kimberly Dark served as the Grand Marshall.
The short parade included various LGBTQ-supporting organizations, local officials like Puna councilwoman Eileen O’Hara and Sen. Russell Ruderman, and even a powerful Hawaiian cultural group led by Kumu Hina Wong-Kalu and the mele Kū Ha’aheo E Ku’u Hawai’i.
After the parade, a festival was scheduled to take place at the Mo’oheau Band Stand by the Hilo Bayfront.
