KEALAKEHE, Hawaii – After testifying before the State Commission on Water Resource Management during a meeting Tuesday at the West Hawaii Civic Center, Mayor Harry Kim explains why he voiced his opposition to a National Park Service petition asking the state to designate the Keauhou Aquifer a Ground Water Management Area.
The Water Commission voted against the designation, 6 to 1, following three years of debate on the issue.
