PAHOA, Hawaii – The issue of squatters has been discussed at length in the community, especially in Puna where business leaders, community organizations and elected officials have been brainstorming solutions to the problem. On Wednesday night in Pahoa, State Senator Russell Ruderman held a talk story, and a large part of the night was devoted to talking about squatters. Ruderman invited residents to share their stories, while the Puna senator shared the microphone with Hawaii County Prosecutor Mitch Roth.
